Here are a few general questions and answers about the rugby team. Q. I don't know anything about rugby. Is that a problem? A. No, not at all. Most of the players on the MSU team learned the game here. We will teach anyone who wants to play. Q. Is it expensive? A. Each player is responsible for his own shorts, socks, and boots. The team provides jerseys. There is also a $20 fee per year to register with USA Rugby. Players are encouraged to come to a few practices and decide if they want to play. If you own a set of cleats, bring them. Q. How much of a time commitment is rugby? A. Good question, rugby practice is two times a week and we have matches on Saturday afternoons. The matches are not every Saturday. We will play about 5-8 games per semester. Q. When and where is practice, and should I just show up? A. Practice is from 6-8pm on the intermural fields Tuesdays and Thursdays. Just show up. Any other questions may be directed to the MSU Rugby Coach, Coach Randy Pannell. |
